The Mediator of consumption

Claude Fellens

Following his legal studies in the Faculty of Law, Political Science and Management in Strasbourg, Mr Fellens began his career as a lawyer, first in a firm specialising in litigation and then in a corporate law firm. In September 2007, he was appointed a judge in the Administrative Tribunal and in April 2011 Vice-President of the Administrative Tribunal.

He was appointed Mediator of consumption by the Government in Council with effect from 1 September 2016 for a period of five years. In May 2016, he attended a specific training course on alternative resolution of consumer disputes in accordance with Article R. 411-1 of the regulatory section of the Consumer Code, as amended by the Grand-Ducal Regulation of 5 July 2016 amending the regulatory part of the Consumer Code.

In October 2016, he took part in the basic Mediation training organized by the Centre de Médiation Civile et Commerciale, with the collaboration of  the House of Training and Luxembourg’s Chambre des Métiers.
